Ausstellungssituation im Showroom Tina Miyake, Düsseldorf 2011

The Car Spam Card Collection consists of nearly 1.000 different cards distributed by second-hand car dealers all around the city. Picked up in the streets, they are presented in custom-made storage boxes, reminding the observer of a collection of urban butterflies. Addressing the obsessive aspects of the specialized collecting of objects of value, the work at the same time also concerns itself with the more general question of how a different use of urban space can engender a fresh perspective on it.
